Part-Time School-Based Pediatric Provider Opportunity

This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the health and well-being of elementary school students in urban, diverse communities.
We are seeking a self-sufficient pediatrician to work 20 hours per week and is comfortable working independently in a school setting. Candidates with 2–3 years of experience are preferred, but residents will be considered.
Position Highlights:
Patient Population:
Pediatric elementary school students
Urban and diverse communities with a variety of languages spoken. Many patients from underserved communities.
Parents opt-in to enroll their children in the school-based health system
This role supplements the family pediatrician and is not a substitute for a full pediatric practice or medical home
Clinical Focus:
Immunizations, asthma management, wellness checks, behavioral health [seen by BHT]
Visits occur with a RN or medical assistant, however; a parent may not be present, and visits will often require follow up
Volume:
Average of 1–1.5 visits per hour, with a maximum of 2 per hour
Schedule:
20 hours per week. 8 hours at each of two schools
Two full days (approx. 8 AM–4 PM)
4 hours of administrative/supervisory time for APC/clinical education
Schedule is school calendar dependent
Monthly Elementary Provider meetings
Monthly medical providers meetings
Low summer volume, ideal for taking vacations
Call Schedule: No call, no nights, no weekends
Practice Environment:
Dedicated office space in the schools with Medical Assistant, Office Assistant and NP Elementary Cooridinator
Support services include: Behavioral Health Therapist, Community health worker Registered part-time dietician, Language Line and iPad translation services
